5 laundry drying mistakes that (almost) everyone makes – and how to avoid them

Washing clothes is part of everyday life – but many small mistakes happen when drying clothes, costing time, space, and sometimes even clothes. We'll show you the most common drying mistakes – and how, with a few tricks (and the right support), you can dry your laundry faster, more gently, and more efficiently.

Mistake 1: Hanging the laundry too tightly

When garments overlap, moisture builds up, significantly increasing drying times and potentially leading to unpleasant odors.

Better yet: Always leave a few centimeters of space between the pieces. Ideally, this allows air to reach the fabric from all sides.

Mistake 2: Choosing the wrong room

Bathrooms and kitchens seem practical, but they're often too humid or poorly ventilated. This can negatively impact the indoor climate and slow down drying.

Better: A room with a stable temperature, as little humidity as possible and good ventilation – e.g.E.g. living room or hallway with open window.

Mistake 3: Not choosing the right spin speed

Many people don't pay attention to how delicate their clothes are when washing them—or how much residual moisture remains after spinning. Both factors significantly influence drying time.

Better:

  • Sensitive fabrics: prefer low speed (e.g.B. 800 rpm) to protect the material.
  • For heavier laundry, spin at 1200–1400 rpm is fine – this will dry it much faster.

The right middle ground saves time – without putting strain on your clothes.

Error 4: No air circulation in the room

Still air = stagnant humidity. Without air movement, the humidity simply stays in the room—and in your clothing.

Better: tilt the window, leave the door open – and for even better results: targeted air movement, e.g.For example, by using drying aids such as HEYDRY . This ensures continuous air circulation without the need to completely ventilate the room.

Mistake 5: Underestimating drying time

"It'll dry overnight" – this thought often leads to half-damp laundry that's damp again in the morning. Or worse: smells musty.

Better: Plan realistically. Thick fabrics, especially, take time. Check after a few hours, turn larger items, or actively accelerate the drying process (see the next section).

💡 HEYDRY: More efficient drying – without compromise

HEYDRY is not a competitor to the traditional tumble dryer, but rather a clever addition for anyone who wants to dry their clothes quickly, gently, and energy-efficiently on the clothes rack.

With targeted air movement and a well-thought-out design, HEYDRY helps you to:

  • to dry faster – even in rooms without optimal air exchange
  • to dry more gently as no excessive heat is generated
  • Energy-saving and quiet to handle – ideal for everyday use
  • Less stressful to handle because you don't have to constantly ventilate, turn and check

Especially in changeable weather or when space is limited, HEYDRY makes the difference – for more relaxed laundry management in everyday life.
